Training is provided by BOWDEN McCORMACK in a range of differing areas:
- General Skills of an Interpreter - through this, interpreters are provided with valuable information including preparation, proper interview practice, their Code of Ethics and professionalism.
- Interpreter Accreditation - interpreters are prepared to sit for the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) test, via which they gain their accreditation.
- Criminal Justice System Workshops - these workshops, presented by Dominic McCormack in his capacity as both an interpreter and qualified lawyer, provide insight into the specialized language and process of the Criminal Justice System for those interpreters seeking to work more effectively within it.
- "How to Use Interpreters" Presentations - targeted to those individuals, organizations and Departments that use interpreters, these presentations highlight in a simple three-stage process an effective way to gain best use of your interpreter.
- Cross-cultural Awareness - in order for communication to be effective, exploration of our own and other cultures can assist in identifying our differences as well as our similarities. As a result of the personal and cultural exploration which occurs in these courses, both Indigenous and ethnic personnel, and Government, corporate and not-for-profit organizations, are able to better achieve their outcomes and bridge the communication gap.
