Climate Change & Sustainability

Like all legal firms today, Bowden McCormack has as much intricate knowledge as the next in terms of where the legal framework affecting our climate and our future will be in the next 5, 10, 20 or 100 years.

However, what we do understand is the importance of a sustainable approach to life and the integral role climate change, and the legal framework applied to it, will play in our everyday futures.  We also understand the unique part legislation like the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act (1976) (Cth) and the Native Title Act (Cth) play, or can play, in the debate that is now taking place in Australia and will continue to take shape over the years ahead.

These matters affect our clients at Wadeye in the Thamarrurr Region or Dhaniya in East Arnhem Land as much as they affect our corporate clients in the urban and regional centres across the Northern Territory.

While we are working with a number of clients to advise upon strategies dealing with climate change, all of our work is governed by the desire of our clients to achieve sustainable outcomes that understand the present whilst looking to the future.

If you wish to understand the legal regimes that currently apply to climate change and if you are committed as a person or a company to sustainability then we will be pleased to work with you to assist you achieve your goals.  As with all our work we will develop a plan that is tailored to your specific needs and reflects your priorities and budget. We will then provide you with advice you need that is relevant to your priorities, not just advice for the sake of advice.
